Louie the Cockapoo

Our puppy, Louie, is a cockapoo! He was born the Fourth of July, 2007.

His mom is a cocker spaniel and dad a poodle which makes him a first generation cockapoo. My boyfriend and I both suffer from allergies but we refused to let them stop us from getting a dog as we are both huge animal lovers! Because of this, we knew we would need to get a low shedding, hypoallergenic one. After alot of research, we decided on the Cockapoo breed. We just could not resist their adorable faces and heard they were very intelligent, lovable, easily trainable pets. Thought to take on the calm, loving demeanor of the Cocker Spaniel and the smarts and friendliness of the Poodle, we agreed that combination was the best of both worlds. We found an awesome breeder in South Carolina, Acura Cockapoos, and decided we wanted Louie when he was just 7 days old. He flew on a plane to reach us in Boston and we just could not have been happier when he arrived. He came right out of his crate and greeted us with big kisses.

He is a city boy now but a southern boy at heart, calm and friendly. Louie weighs 3.7 pounds, has a 7" neck, 12"girth and is 11"long. Most of Louies gifts have been clothes so he is becoming quite a pro at wearing them. He loves being with his new parents, saying hi to everyone and everything outside, exploring the city streets, going in the car and just being a good boy!! Even though everyone calls him a little teddy bear, we think he really thinks he is a big dog as he goes right up to the biggest of dogs without a care in the world. It is quite a site!

Scarlett the long-haired Chihuahua

Meet Scarlett, an elegant Chihuahua looking fabulous in this crisp red sweater.

Her mother says:

"My baby Scarlett is a long haired Chihuahua. She just turned three in February. I fell in love with Chihuahuas years ago. A woman that I worked with would bring her Chihuahua to work. It would sleep under her desk and follow her everywhere. I could not get a dog until a few years ago. I always remembered her Chihuahua and checked into the breed. Chihuahuas bond very strongly with their Moms (or Dads) and are very devoted.

Measurements and Stats: Neck 10 3/4 Width 16 Girth 17 Chest 4 1/2 Length 12 1/2.  She weights 9.6 lbs.

As much as Scarlett loves the clothes, she is a bit more practical for her life style. We live in the mountains and like to go for long walks. She would love it if mom could carry her lead and water bottle more easily. She does not really care for trying to drink water out of my hand."  Kathy Russell, Linden, VA
